Urangan can be useful for a stay with marine activities in mind, while other parts of the foreshore may better suit repeated walks and relaxed meals. Check the exact departure point for any tour; being near a pier is not the same as being near the correct boat terminal.
Let the esplanade fill a morning
A waterside walk or cycle can be the main activity rather than a warm-up for another excursion. Choose a section, stop for breakfast and return before the day becomes too hot. A shorter outing repeated on another morning may be more enjoyable than covering the whole foreshore at once.

Keep departure morning local and allow for any drive to the airport or next town. Hervey Bay works well as a pause in a wider Queensland trip when you let its ordinary waterfront hours count as part of the holiday.
